View the post ↗SmartCast Heroes began with a personal experience. Farah spent months in a cast and learned firsthand how isolating, boring, and quietly frightening recovery can feel — especially for a child. The idea was simple: what if the cast itself could become part of the healing, not just a thing you wait out?
SmartCast Heroes is a research project building a smart pediatric cast that turns recovery into something children can interact with — gentle gamification, courage-building, and quiet medical sensing all in one device. The goal isn't to replace medicine. It's to make the time inside a cast feel less like waiting and more like growing.
Safe, comfortable, clinician-approved — the cast first, the smart layer second.
Lightweight embedded electronics, designed for a child's body and a child's daily life.
Built around how children actually feel about being hurt — courage, play, agency.

SmartCast Heroes is not a launched product yet — the team is in the prototyping and research phase. Follow along on Instagram for development updates, behind-the-scenes work, and the first pilots.
